Child finishes XC career at NCAA Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. The 2016 cross country season came to its conclusion on Saturday with the finish of the NCAA Championship meet at LaVern Gibson Championship Course. lt;br />Senior Ellie Child, running the final cross country race of her Weber State career, ran the 6K course in 20:50.9 and finished 101st overall. Child, who won the Big Sky Conference individual championship in October, was one of two Big Sky runners in the meet. lt;br />Missouri's Karissa Schweizer was the individual national champion, while Oregon captured the team title with a one-point win over Michigan. lt;br />On the men's side, Northern Arizona won the first NCAA title in school history and became the first Big Sky Conference team to win a Division I national title. Big Sky Conference individual champion Futsum Zienasellassie finished fourth overall to lead the Lumberjacks.
