Wildcats perform well at Jackson Invite

OGDEN, Utah The Weber State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the New Balance Boise Indoor Jacksons Invite this past weekend. The Wildcats picked up three new conference qualifying marks and 23 seasonal bests at the meet, lt;br />On the women's side, Elisa Isakson earned the Wildcats first qualifying mark on Friday night in the pole vault. Her mark of 11-11.75 is the best mark by a Wildcat this season. Alli Morris had a personal best in the same event with her mark of 11-05.75, which is the third best mark in school history. lt;br />Jamie Stokes and Taylor Cox were the other two athletes who picked a qualifying time as the placed fifth and six in the 800-meters respectively. Stokes, a week removed from breaking the school record in the mile, ran the 10th fastest time in school history, 2:11.76. Cox finished right behind Stokes with at time of 2:12.93. lt;br />Tawnie Moore picked up a win and a new personal-best in the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 8.78 is the fourth fastest time in school history. Amanda Alston, Kiersten Watkins and Michaella Hillstrom all ran seasonal-best times in the 400-meters. lt;br />On the men's side Tony Osheku Jr. placed seventh in the 60-meters with a time of 7.01 and placed sixth in the 200-meters running 22.13. Dustin Durfee ran a seasonal-best 22.18 in the same event and placed seventh and also placed eighth in the 400-meters. Joe Maloney ran a seasonal-best 1:54.80 in the 800-meters. While both Stetson Smith and Zack Schweinsberg ran personal bests as well in the same event. lt;br />In the field events, Anthony Gregory picked up a second place finish in the high jump as his matched his seasonal-best mark of 6-11.00. Justin Herbert picked up the a third place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 51-00.25. lt;br />The Wildcats will travel to Bozeman, Montana next weekend to take part in the Montana State Invitational next Friday.
