Stokes named Big Sky Athlete of the week

OGDEN, Utah Weber State's Jamie Stokes was selected as the Big Sky women's track athlete of the Week for second time this season, the conference announced Tuesday. lt;br /> lt;br />Stokes, a junior from Ogden, Utah, broke her own school-record in the mile run this past Saturday at the Husky Invite. Her time of 4:43.12 was nearly a second faster than her previous mark. lt;br /> lt;br />"She is having a really good season so far," Director of Track and Field Dan Walker said. "She is going to be one of the top runners in the conference this year. She is running fast and will only get faster as the season goes on. lt;br /> lt;br />Stokes is a six-time Big Sky All-Conference performer in both track and cross country. Last spring, she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII women's cross country/track and field First Team. lt;br /> lt;br />The other winners were Sacramento State's Erinn Jones, Northern Arizona's Deante Kemper and Montana State's Cristian Soratos.
