Wildcats find success at home meet

OGDEN, Utah The Weber State men's and women's track and field program played host their only home met of the indoor season on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats picked up three automatic qualifying marks and eight victories. Emily Morgan (60-meters), Tawnie Moore (60-meter hurdles) and Ryan Carlson (60-meter hurdles) earned the auto qualifiers. lt;br />On the women's side. Morgan's time of 7.12 in the preliminary round of the 55-meters is the tenth-fastest time in school history. She came back to win the finals edging out teammate Alex Van Halder and Chandler Weitzeil. lt;br />The Wildcats took the top four spots in the 200-meters as Van Halder got the victory. They also had four of the top five finishers in the 400-meters lead by the second place finish of Kiersten Watkins in 58.33. Moore's time of 8.08 in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles is the fifth-fastest time in school history. lt;br />Rachel Blumel ran a seasonal-best in the mile as she placed fourth in 5:18.94. lt;br />Hailey Stevens won the high jump in a seasonal-best 5-05.75 while Paige Cooper was the top finisher in the triple jump. Elisa Isakson tied the school record in the pole vault with her mark of 12-06.25. Jazmin Porter took second in the shot put with a mark of 46-06.75. lt;br />On the men's side, Tony Osheku Jr. continued to run well as he picked up a pair of second place finishes in the 55- and-200-meters. His time of 21.88 in the 200-meters was a new personal-best. lt;br />Carlson picked up the win, personal-best and auto qualifier in the 55-meter hurdles. He edged teammate Joey Czellecz to earn his first victory of the season. His time of 7.66 in the preliminaries will secure him a spot in Flagstaff next weekend. Mitch Mourdant ran a new personal-best in the same event and took third respectively. lt;br />Isaac Akers won the 400-meters just missing a season-best time. Tip Worob won the 3,000 meters and all but secured his spot at the conf
